The birth of your child is a life changing moment. As a birth photographer, I want to capture the intense love that is present in the birth space. It is my hope to document the strength of the human body as it brings new life into the world. I want parents to see how they tenderly support one another and how they persist through joy and hardship. I believe birth photography is especially important for people who have experienced prior traumatic births, infertility, or loss, and that it can be powerful and healing. I want to show the power in birth, the resilience of birthing people, and the intensity of love at each birth. To me, birth photography is a form of love and a seeking of truth. It is a way to memorialize the love in those first moments of a family.
How does it work?
Let's meet over zoom or a cup of coffee outdoors and talk! If it seems like we are a good fit, I will send you a contract; a retainer fee of half the total amount is due at time of hire to reserve your EDD on my calendar. The rest of the payment is due at our prenatal meeting. We will have a prenatal meeting to talk further about your hopes for your photos and logistics for the big day. I will be on call for you, starting two weeks before your due date until the birth of your baby. I will join you in active labor, either at home or hospital. I will do my best to sink into the background so you can focus on the hard work of labor. I will stay for about two hours after the birth of your baby to capture those special first moments. A digital gallery will be delivered within six weeks with approximately 100-150 edited images. Your privacy is of the upmost important to me and no images will be shared without your written permission.
